Early afternoon arrival in Guardia Sanframondi by own means. Reception by a local contact person at the Town Hall and delivery of the “Welcome Sannio” kit (shopping bag, map of the territory, guide to the wine cellars of the town, discount vouchers in affiliated shops, souvenir gadgets). Check-in at one of the booked accommodation facilities and accommodation in the reserved rooms. In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, the day begins to discover the world capital of Falanghina with a walk through the ancient vineyards, to continue with a guided tour of one of the most significant wineries in the area. An exciting journey through vats and barriques, vinification, and aging rooms, to retrace the fascinating journey of a glass of Falanghina from the vineyard to the bottle. The visit will find a worthy conclusion with a guided wine tasting paired with traditional local dishes. In the afternoon, visit to a farm producing extra virgin olive oil, in the racioppella, ortice and ortolana varieties, all organic. An unmissable opportunity to get to know the genuine flavors of a land with healthy rural traditions, through the symbolic food of the Mediterranean diet, which recalls a deep past. • Visit to the Monumental Complex of Santa Sofia in Benevento, UNESCO heritage since 2011, which is part of the serial site “The Lombards in Italy: the places of power (568-774 AD)”. The complex includes the church, one of the most important of the Longobardia Minor that has survived to the present day, the bell tower in front of the square, the former monastery with the picturesque cloister, the fountain in the center of the area.
