This is a great recognition for Italy, for Naples and the Campania Region.
In the afternoon we will visit the Veiled Christ, inside the Sansevero Chapel Museum. After an immersion in the most authentic Neapolitan spirit, we move to Chiaia street: a bon ton air and several luxury boutiques await us for shopping. In this area, we can admire the staircase of Palazzo Mannajoli, a real pearl of the area.
Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning dedicated to the visit of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples: the National Archaeological Museum of Naples hosts one of the most extraordinary collections of antiquities in the world; in its rooms, there are historical collections that constitute, without emphasis, one of the main cores of the history of Italian and Western culture: the group of Farnese gems and sculptures, inheritance of the Bourbons; the treasures of Herculaneum and Pompeii, an unparalleled set of frescoes and mosaics, statues, precious and common objects; famous collections and new displays such as the medal table and the famous Secret Cabinet, the collection of “obscene” finds that documents the ancient costumes in terms of eroticism.
Alternatively, Adventure Path at the Bourbon Gallery lasting 1 hour and 25 minutes: follow the path wearing an orange helmet and holding a torch in your hands; the itinerary includes a visit to a cistern built at the end of the 1400s, reachable through a short tunnel, in which hydraulic works of exceptional workmanship and crosses engraved in the hydraulic mortar are visible, linked to the hard work of the “pozzaro”; subsequently, we will walk a 20m long part of the tunnel called “Pizzofalcone” to re-enter the Bourbon Gallery in the “car room”. We will walk up to the second large cistern intercepted by the tunnel excavation to go down to the bottom of the same where the aquifer emerges; after admiring the marvelous eighteenth-century arches, you will walk through the pilot tunnel of the former LTR which leads to the boarding of the raft. After navigating back and forth, you will go up to the Bourbon Gallery reaching the end of the nineteenth-century excavation where, on the walls, the names and thoughts of the Neapolitans who came down to the shelter from Piazza Carolina during the Second World War are engraved. NB: children aged 10 years and over must be accompanied by an adult.
